I recently stayed at a luxurious hotel in a charming town filled with beautiful Art Deco style buildings. This place is conveniently located right in the center of town, surrounded by a number of pubs and situated by the waterfront. The location couldn't be better, just a short walk from the city center along the waterfront. The hotel offers great amenities including bicycle hire, a sauna, and even a tennis court. The staff at the reception desk were friendly and helpful, making my stay even more enjoyable.
I highly recommend this hotel to families.

Excellent value for money, in a very convenient location. The rooms were a generous size and the staff very helpful. The breakfast and evening buffets were very good and we enjoyed the waffles in the afternoon. The limitless coffee available in reception was a very nice touch.
On arrival we upgraded our room to a water view, but were disappointed that the windows were very small and hence gave a very limited view. If you upgrade your room, first make sure that it is one of the rooms with floor length windows, otherwise don't bother.

Friendly staff who were helpful with laundry, restaurant recommendations, and tourist information. • Good free food options, including three complimentary meals a day and make-your-own waffles in the afternoon.• Excellent location within walking distance of the ship dock and close to museums and attractions.
The relax and fitness department was small and could be improved. Noise from boats passing by the dock could be heard when the windows were open.

I like the location, in the center of the town. From my window I could look at the sea, and fishing from my room if I want to. I also like the design in the reseption - area and in the breakfast - room.

I was glad by the atmosphere of the hotel, which is the old warehouse - it created the speical mood. The view from the window were adorable iether on the water or the beautifull streets. The menu was very good with variety of food and its good quality. My kids were also happy from the staying having the lot of space in the room.

Located right in the middle of the city, the hotel offers a prime location alongside the waterfront at Bryggen. the rooms are spacious and modern, with comfortable beds and free Wi-Fi. the bathroom features a roomy shower, and the service provided by the staff is friendly and helpful. the complimentary meals, including breakfast and light supper, are delicious and varied with fresh and local ingredients. the hotel also offers a large atrium with plenty of lounge space and a fast Wi-Fi connection.
One downside is the lack of dessert options in the evening buffet.

We stayed at the Byrggen to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary and were pleased at the kind fruit plate and card that the staff sent to the room upon learning this... we loved our room... 4th floor, right on the water ! And choice this hotel over others because of the free vafflers in the afternoon and the light supper at night (beside the frokost in the morning)... and we loved the setting, the location, the decor... and the staff! Well done!

very good location, very nice food. I love the snack which we should make by ourselves during afternoon tea so much! Anybody know the name?

We had a fantastic stay in this city. The hotel is ideally located in the centre, amidst beautiful Art Deco style buildings, which were built in a short span of 3 years after the city's destruction in 1904. Being in the middle of the city and right alongside the waterfront, the hotel offers stunning views. The staff at the hotel were exceptional and provided outstanding service, making our stay feel very special. The breakfast served was excellent, and the hotel facilities were clean and well-maintained.
Nothing, all was good.

Norway is expensive and Hotel Bryggen offers excellent value by not only including breakfast but also a buffet dinner which is fine for a few days, also if around in the afternoon waffles are available. Ask for a room with view of the sea when booking. Staff friendly and very helful.

Wonderful boutique hotel on the alesund harbour. Rooms are clean and very typical. We appreciated a lot the Tea break with delicious waffles and the evening light buffet (soup, lasagna, baccalao and many cold cuts) that made us save money in the expensive Norway.
No croissant and cakes at breakfast. The tv is not flat screen and there are few local channels. Mist of all there are few towels available in the bathroom comparing to same level hotels.
